Transforming an Audio Recording

With your first audio, you could notice that your interviewing skills suck or could at least use some improvements. Well, pat yourself on the back. This is way better than allowing a choice family experience to vaporize in time. You have something real for your posterity to connect with. After you have some experience of knowing the end from the beginning, the next interview results will fit better.

Listen to your interview numerous times and start to list off the pictures, maps, songs, historical news, etc., you could bring into the mix. You will need some choreographing tools to blend it all together. You want to immerse the viewer into the full-dip experience of the world the story resides in. You could even bring in some statistics that compare that world to ours. Help the viewer get a scope of their hardships and feel the mood for a day in their life.

The editing process will involve clipping and splicing. You’ll need to have tact, as some censorship could benefit the overall acceptance of your finished work. The elderly mostly don’t get the online world and the potential reach it has. Gossipy story content put on the net could tick off extended family, friends, and associates.

Below is a sample audio recording my mother talking about her grandfather and related topic. Its the raw start for this project.

The finished project has a favorite song, old family pictures depicting the people and events. A popup from google maps for some location information.

Adding your content to a simple audio, brings much more life to the story. Get creative!
